There are no "set rules" when it comes to mobile phones. Although the technology is great, people often forget that they are not in the comfort of their living room or that other people (yes, strangers) are around them and do not follow the unspoken "manners". Tell Us Your Peeved Stories

“YES! FOR THE LOVE OF __________, WE CAN HEAR YOU NOW!”
Not everyone wants to hear your business or dirty laundry. According to Synovate, mobile phone users’ worst habit is having LOUD conversations in public. Unless your intentions are to attract negative attention, keep your voice to a minimum and keep it brief.
TMI - Too Much Information
Keep your personal conversations "personal". We'll eavesdrop when and if we want to. If you don’t want people to see you crying in line at the bank, refrain from having emotional conversations in public. Offer to call the person back, step outside, or find a quiet place where you can openly and unabashedly describe your newly contracted STI.
Shut up and DRIVE!
At any given time, about 3% of people driving are simultaneously talking on their mobiles. That translates to millions of drivers. Eight out of 10 crashes involve drivers who are using a cell phone, drowsy, or otherwise distracted from the road ahead, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (USA). Not only is this dangerous for you, but you could hurt others. So use a hands-free head set and never text while driving.
Grow up!
Don’t use loud and annoying ring tones. Don't keep it ringing to show off either.
Mobile not Boom Box
Many mobile phones these days are integrated with an MP3 player and has become the one stop mobile entertainment, but doesn’t mean that everyone around you wants to be entertained. Most of us have our own musical preferences. Use the earphones, you wouldn't want me to force you to listen to my music, trust me!
Mobile Super Powers? - Invisibility
Don’t forget that there are other people around you. Don’t be rude to the person behind the counter, acknowledge the person who held the door open for you (so you can keep talking on your phone) or the person you have in company. Your mobile doesn’t give you super invisible powers. When you zone out into mobile lalaland you still exist to the rest of us.
Remember being told "Silence is golden"?
There are places where you absolutely should not use your phone. If you aren’t going to turn it off then at least put it on silent or vibrate, and keep it easily accessible. Rule of thumb, turn your phone on vibrate, silent or on vibrate if you wouldn’t bring a screaming child. (ie. class, theaters, funerals, weddings, you get the idea)
Your Perosnal Time with Johnny
Don't use your phone in the restroom. That's just gross... it's a fact that water and other particles can splash up to 6 ft. into the air upon flushing. Pretty sure we don’t want that or to hear anything that goes on, and shouldn’t you be concentrating on something else?
