iJustine and Intel's Mobile Manners videos

A few interesting figures from a survey done by Intel:

  • 9 out 10 adults have a mobile etiquette pet peeve
  • 63% said talking loudly on an Internet-enabled device in public as irritating
  • Over 50% reports that they are annoyed by people who do not follow mobile etiquette rules in cafes and restaurants

For more results of the survey visit iJustine or the Intel page.

Another installment of the Mobile Karma - by Kyocera

Everyone of us has had the encounter with the social menace that talks on their mobile phone in a doctor's office waiting room. Traditionally a quiet and rather nervous place; we are forced to listen to a blabbering of some idiot. Mobile Karma commercial - by Kyocera

Don't DWT (drive while texting)

mobpeeve Posted by mobpeeve at 02:16 AM on June 26, 2009 Comments comments (0)

We've always known that drivers who text are distracted, here are some test results run by Car & Driver magazine. Their tests show that drivers who are DWT are dramatically slower, and can be worse than driving intoxicated.  So in no way are we condoning texting while driving or drinking and driving.

Moive Night

I know (many of us) are excited about the new Transformers 2 movie out today, but PLEASE remember to turn off your cell phone, and that means no texting too.  If I'm sitting next to you, I can see the screen light flickering and I hear your clicky-dee-clackin on your buttons.

Just Turn it OFF!

mobpeeve Posted by mobpeeve at 10:04 PM on June 19, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Not all your calls are emergency or "important".  Make sure you turn your phone off in a doctor's office, theater, movies and other inapropriate places.  And yes, it's annoying when you pull out your phone and text in the middle of a movie we can SEE you.

Oh really!?!?

Tip: Start the week right by turning your ringer off

mobpeeve Posted by mobpeeve at 02:40 AM on June 14, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Who hasn't experienced a phone go off in the middle of a movie? It is highly disruptive and annoying for a phone to go off during a business meeting, class, lecture or movie. So remember to turn off your phone's ringer and don't answer your phone either.
